About Nantucket Artist Valeri Arnold-Osley
Valeri Arnold-Osley is a Nantucket, Massachusetts fine artist known for original oil paintings inspired by the beauty, light, and character of island life.
Working primarily in oil on linen, Valeri creates Nantucket paintings featuring beaches, salt marshes, boats, harbors, ocean views, waves, historic buildings, lighthouses, coastal landscapes, portraits, and still life. Her work blends realism and impressionism, capturing both the familiar places and quiet moments that make Nantucket so distinctive.
A year-round Nantucket resident since 1998, Valeri paints the island she calls home through every season. Many of her paintings are inspired by time spent outdoors, on location, from memory, and from personal studies of Nantucket’s shoreline, marshes, village scenes, and changing coastal light.
Valeri began drawing and painting at the age of three. She later studied fine art at the Art Students League in New York, the School of Visual Arts in New York, Kean College in New Jersey, and the University of Houston in Texas. She has also studied portraiture with world-renowned artist Daniel Greene.
Her paintings hang in private homes, businesses, hotels, and collections on Nantucket and beyond. She is an artist member of the Artists Association of Nantucket and is represented locally through the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery.
“Nantucket Island has this unique lighting that cascades off its inviting shores, landscape, and people. In my mind, it seems to visually pour out colors for me to create many interesting themes.”
Original paintings are available in person by private appointment and through select Nantucket gallery availability. Museum-quality giclée prints, canvas prints, and paper prints may also be available and can be shipped nationally.
